When I woke up this morning I had no idea that my entire life would change. I did not know it but I was living a lie just like everyone else in the world. And it doesn’t matter who you are; if you are alive, you are being deceived. Everything makes sense now; most legends are true, that was the biggest wake up call for me. I don’t really wonder about things like I used to; I’m mainly scared about what the future holds for me, my family, and friends, acquaintances, strangers, you name it. The monsters scare me; but what really scares me is I am one of the few people that know what is about to happen on this earth. And that my friend is the truly scary part. What if you could warn people about a tragic end that is speeding their way? Wouldn’t your friend be happy? Everyone I have told about this except for my wife and a few acquaintances wonder if I have stopped taking my medication. I don’t take any chronic medication. But people sure like to drop that line while they question your mental health.
This story really begins at birth but for the sake of the brevity let’s start in 2000. I married my wife in 2002 and in April 2003 we had my daughter. I will refer to her as April. When April was born I was 40 and had lived quite the single life. After a few years we decided to start going back to Church after a 17 year break. My wife is a beautiful young woman who we’ll call Cathy. II have never been happier in all of my days. Having Cathy and April is the most fantastic thing that has ever happened to me. And I should mention that I have had a lot of very exciting things happen to me over the years.
So it’s 2007 at the end of the great housing bubble. We buy a great home in Carmel, Indiana and put April through all of the best schools. We start attending through a bad suggestion of mine a very fundamental Reformed Church. Cathy was miserable but bided her time until I could understand that this place was not for us. Unfortunately for the family I would put them through a great amount of drama before a decision to move Church’s would be reached. And in the end I went against my wishes to keep my family together. Thank God that I was able to see the light with help from Cathy and I put us on a true course to following Jesus Christ after being brought to a complete understanding of what that meant.
That understanding began in 2008 after we had run into trouble with the Church. The trouble was really at a family level because Cathy was miserable going to this Church. One afternoon we were looking for a new Church to attend and while searching online a keyword search returned the Greek word Ekklesia. The Greek word Ekklesia is what the New Testament word Church is translated from. Additional study brought the truth to light. The Greek word Ekklesia actually means assembly; or a lawful assembly, congregation, those belonging to Christ. Wow; what a break through, but if the New Testament didn’t allude to a corporate Church worship what did it really mean? I was about to get as popular as Stephen right before he was stoned to death.
I wondered all of this to myself while I was shivering from cold spending the first night of many in the Hoosier National Forest. How we ended up in southern Indiana hunkered down in the hills is the purpose of this story. We have a perfectly good quarter of a million dollar home back in Carmel Indiana with a swimming pool, hot tub and 2400 square feet of living space. But I personally don’t want to be anywhere around it when the trouble begins.
In the fall and winter seasons of 2008 the stock market and housing markets burst and sent most people running for the exit gate. A friend of mine at work really started waking me up to what was going on in the world. I was soon to figure out the second part of the enigma. That fact is that we are being controlled by the powers that be that rule this earth. Would you like to try and take a guess as to who that would be? The evil one is the ruler of this world just as the Bible says. And there is a lot more to his endgame that anyone thinks.
It wasn’t until 2009 that I would put together all of the missing pieces and as soon as that puzzle was put together Cathy and I bought 8 acres that borders the Hoosier National Forest with a several thousand acre back yard. A 16’ X 16’ authentic Amish Cabin came with the property. We soon pulled a 32’ foot trailer that I traded a relative for out here to round out the basics. We now have heat, shelter, air conditioning, a refrigerator and more. I spent the night out at the property for the first time last evening. The animals were howling; the owls were singing and I was scared. That’s why I came out here by myself. It’s best to figure out how everything works when you don’t have the pressure of taking care of other people stacked up on your list of responsibilities.
So; the final piece of information that cause me to set up a second home and stock it with food, heat and love is a missing book that disappeared almost 1700 years ago. It’s called the book of Enoch and once you read this you will understand why it was destroyed. The book of Enoch was destroyed to hide the truth of what is really going on in the supernatural world. A war is going on between the good and evil powers of the world. The deception though is so much deeper than what our Church or the world tells us.
There is a battle that has been raging on this planet ever since Adam and Eve were first placed here. That battle boils down to this. DNA strands were created with super natural beings during Noah’s day. Genesis 6 hints at this a little bit telling us that the Nephilim were on the earth in those days. Other Bible translations translate that word as giants. My wife put it best when we were studying this in the privacy of our own home about a month ago. The Bible tells us that the last days of the earth will be like the days of Noah. Many people have taken that to mean that there will be people still being married and throwing parties when the end of the world comes. Noah days were filled with fallen angels that bred with earth women and became mothers to a race of giants that the Bible and other mythology tells us about. My wife said it so eloquently when she looked me in the eye and said their coming back?

#2 of 4 on Mt Zaphon. Scripture: Psalm 89:11-12—The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it—you have founded them. The north and the south—you created them; Tabor and Hermon joyously praise your name.
Reflection: Here's an interesting comment—"…the north and the south—you created them." He then mentions two mountains of northern Israel. What is interesting is that the word for north is Zaphon. The high mountain home of the Canaanite gods north of Ugarit was called Zaphon. As the Israelites came into Canaan, there began a long struggle between the worship of Yahweh, the God of the bible, and the gods of the Canaanites.
Our passage is not specific in its reference—perhaps it is a generic mention of directions—merely coincidental to the passage—but I suspect not. The Psalm credits God with creation of all things—even Zaphon the mountain connected with Baal and Asherah worship. The term north (Zaphon) seems to be connected several times in scripture with sources of power, military might and homes of the gods. Perhaps it is that the poet had in his mind the lofty monotheism that formed the heart of ancient Judaism—the God of creation is the one who had no beginning and will never cease to be. He it is who has all power and sovereignty over the affairs of men. The northern home of the gods is only on temporary loan from the God in whose hands all things exist and were created. I suspect it is no accident he mentions north and south.
Prayer Starter: Father, you have conquered the gods of Canaan; you have entered their home on Zaphon and shown yourself to be the only true, living and omnipotent one. We thank you for your self-revelation and your victory over all the invented gods of humanity. Amen. |

Scripture: Galatians 6:11—See what large letters I make when I am writing in my own hand!
Reflection: Here's a bit of personal comment by the apostle Paul—but like all such things in the New Testament, there is uncertainty about its meaning. Though Paul commonly dictated his letters to an amanuensis, he seems to have finished them off with a short comment in his own handwriting. Check it out in 1 Cor 16:21—"I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand," (also Col 4:18). He explains a little more fully in 2 Thess 3:17—"I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. This is the mark in every letter of mine; it is the way I write."
In the first Corinthian letter he wrote about his "thorn in the flesh" (12:7) but he didn't describe the nature of his affliction—was it a disease, injury, or disability? There have been, of course, many guesses—and they may all be wrong! Perhaps some of the violence directed against him had caused his problem. Suppose it was his eyesight that was the problem—whether from advancing age or from injury—this comment in Galatians might make perfect sense. Later, in 4:13-15, he wrote "You know that it was because of a physical infirmity that I first announced the gospel to you; though my condition put you to the test…For I testify that, had it been possible, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me."
Prayer Starter: Father, your grace was sufficient to the apostle and indeed it is sufficient for all who seek you through faith. Bear us up under the afflictions we experience—we do not ask for all our difficulties to cease but that in these trials you might be glorified. Amen. |

#1 of 4 on Mt Zaphon. Scripture: Isaiah 14:12—How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit on the mount of assembly on the heights of Zaphon; I will ascent to the tops of the clouds, I will make myself like the Most High.
Reflection: Zaphon is a high mountain (Syria/Turkey border, mostly in Turkey) some 10 Km north of the ruins of Ugarit (important Syrian archaeological site). Zaphon was for Canaanites what Mt Olympus was to Greeks—the home of the gods (the Baals). The king of Babylon proclaimed himself a god, demanding worship from his subjects. He said he would preside over the gods in their assembly on Zaphon and be called Most High (head god).
Isaiah is sarcastic about the king's boasting—he calls him Day Star and Dawn—the names of two gods (Heb: helal and shahar). He says the king's death has brought him down from head god to anonymous nobody—"But you are brought down to Sheol to the depths of the Pit. Those who see you will stare at you…Is this the man who made the earth tremble…?" Even his offspring and kingdom were doomed—"because you have destroyed your land, you have killed your people" (14:20). "I will sweep it with the broom of destruction, says the LORD of hosts…" (14:23). There is no reason to think this passage is speaking of some "fall" of Satan and his angels—it has direct and transparent reference to the most powerful king of the world at that time and his kingdom of violence, idolatry and blasphemy—it speaks of one who thinks he is a god and demands that others agree.
Prayer Starter: Father, we acknowledge you as the only God of heaven and earth. We see that humans pretending to be gods are deceiving themselves and will come into judgment before your throne. Help us learn from such pretenders and worship only you. Amen. |

Scripture: 3 John 11—Beloved, do not imitate what is evil but imitate what is good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.
Reflection: Every coach knows that showing a player how to make a move is more effective than merely criticizing or talking about it. "Here, let me show you how to do this," is the language of sports, music, artists, and mother birds teaching their fledglings how to fly. In morality and faith as well, we learn by imitating. But there are both good and evil things I could pattern my life after—lives of service, purity, and dedication, but also lives of dishonesty, violence, and disregard for God. No genius is needed to identify the good—and also no great skill is needed to spot what is destructive, divisive, angry, and evil.
Think about each choice you make—practice imitating the good! Your genuineness as a believer is reflected in your choices. Good has its roots in God—it is defined by the nature of God himself. When I imitate evil, I am rejecting not only the good, but God. Every choice is filtered through the process in my mind that separates good from evil—but it is personal choice that allows only the good to be the standard by which I live. We can, of course, rebel against the good and imitate those who are in rebellion against the God of heaven but it is tragedy to do so—imitating evil is the ultimate loser behavior. Evil will not win the cosmic battle but will someday be banished completely. God will judge the world in righteousness and give blessing to those who consistently have chosen the good. Choosing evil is to blindly follow the rebellious of the world to their destruction. Not a good choice!
Prayer Starter: Lord God, from you comes all our knowledge of right and wrong—but from you also come our calling to be holy and our strength to choose the good. Help us, father, to imitate all that is good and avoid the very appearances of the evil One. Amen. |
